Surgery for Colon Cancer With Liver Mets

For group 2, undergoing surgery in an attempt to remove their colon cancer with liver mets saw the same deterioration in their quality of life immediately after the surgery, but because they could not have the problem removed by surgery, their symptoms did not actually return to pre-operation quality of life standards at the three months point.

The control group of the study who did not undergo any surgery for the removal of their colon cancer with liver mets did not indicate much loss of health-related quality of life over the three-month period.

Conclusion

Due to the fast recovery of health-related quality of life in patients undergoing surgery to remove colon cancer with liver mets, it was concluded that the surgical approach is justified. It was determined based on group 2 results, however, that individuals choosing a surgical process for the removal of colon cancer with liver mets must determine prior to surgery that the liver mets can be removed due to this group’s health-related quality of life deteriorating continuously after the surgery.
